# Loom Recording Block

> Embed a Loom video in a quote so the buyer can watch you walk through the proposal on the Web Portal.

A Loom Recording block embeds a [Loom](https://www.loom.com) video in the quote. Record a short walkthrough of the pricing, the options, or the terms, and the buyer can play it right inside the proposal on the [Web Portal](/get-started/calculator/web-portal.md). In asynchronous sales cycles, a personal walkthrough helps the buyer understand the deal when you can't be on a call.

Loom is the only video provider Veles supports. There's no Loom integration to connect -- you paste the video's share link into the block.

## Availability

**Loom Recording** appears in the **Add Content** menu when your account's [Web Portal](/get-started/calculator/web-portal.md) is enabled. If you don't see it, ask an admin to turn on the portal in **Admin Console > Calculator > Portal**.

Turning the portal off removes **Loom Recording** from the menu. Loom Recording blocks already on quotes stay where they are.

## Add a Loom Recording

**1. Record and share your video in Loom**

In Loom, open the video and copy its share link. It looks like `https://www.loom.com/share/...`.

**2. Add the block**

On the quote, click **Add Content** and select **Loom Recording**. Veles adds a block named "Loom Recording" at the bottom of the quote.

**3. Paste the link**

Click the block to edit it. Enter a **Name** (the heading the buyer sees above the video) and paste the link into **Loom Video URL**.

**4. Choose display options and save**

Adjust the player settings below if needed, then click **Save**. The video appears in the block straight away.

The block accepts Loom share links (`loom.com/share/...`) and embed links (`loom.com/embed/...`). If the link isn't a Loom video link, the block saves without a video and shows "No Loom video URL provided".

A quote can have more than one Loom Recording block -- for example, a short introduction at the top and a pricing walkthrough next to the options.

> Check the video's sharing settings in Loom before you publish. The buyer plays the video through Loom, so they need to be allowed to view it.

## Player settings

The edit form controls how the Loom player looks and behaves for the buyer.

The defaults give a clean player with only the video and its basic controls. Turn the share button and title back on if you want the buyer to be able to open the video in Loom or pass it to colleagues.

## Manage the block

Hover over the block and click the grip icon on its left to open the block menu. Drag the same icon to move the block up or down the quote.

| **Hide** / **Reveal** | Hides the video from the buyer's Web Portal while keeping it on the quote. |
| **Delete** | Removes the block from the quote. |

Blocks can only be added, changed, moved, or removed while the quote is in the quoting stage.

## Where it appears

* **Web Portal:** the name renders as a heading with the playable video below it.
* **Documents and PDFs:** Loom Recording blocks are left out. A generated document has no way to play a video, and templates have no variable for these blocks. If the buyer will mostly read a PDF, add a link to the video in a [Text block](/get-started/calculator/blocks/text-block.md) instead.
